- CIUHCT researchers in Applied Ethics collection

CIUHCT coordinators Maria Paula Diogo and Ana Simões are the authors of the chapter "História da Ciência e História da Tecnologia: Reflexões sobre ética e prática disciplinares" [History of Science and History of Technology: Reflections on ethics and disciplinary practices], in the latest volume of the Ética Aplicada [Applied Ethics] book collection, published by Edições 70 and the Luso-American Foundation for Development (FLAD).

On November 26, CIUHCT researcher Helena Avelar de Carvalho successfully presented her PhD thesis at the Warburg Institute (London, UK), a new contribution to an international history of astrology.

Its object is to provide a forum for board games research from all academic disciplines in order to further our understanding of the development and distribution of board games within an interdisciplinary academic context. Its managing editor is Jorge Nuno Silva.

Isabel Amaral organises, together with Jaime Benchimol (Casa de Oswaldo Cruz) and Maria Deane (Fiocruz), the 3rd Luso-Brasilian Meeting on the History of Tropical Medicine, which will take place in Manaus, Brasil.
- AQUA research project opens position for PhD fellow

Applications may be submitted from October 24 to November 14. Candidates are required to have scientific and/or professional experience in working with documentation of the 15th to the 18th centuries, knowledge on Early Modern History, and a PhD degree granted in the past year, at the latest.
